Cheap Skin Care Products - 3 Critical Reasons to Avoid Them

You may not agree with me, but hear me out: I think your skin is too precious to risk damaging with cheap skin care products.
I know this might be an unpopular stance to take during tight economic conditions, but there's good reason for it. In this article, we'll look at three key reasons why you should avoid cheap skin products, and instead, look for treatments that may cost a little more, but will contain more effective, proven ingredients.
Here's a list of reasons why you should avoid them.
1) Parabens.
Topping the list is the issue of parabens. You'll find parabens contained quite frequently in inexpensive cosmetics. These chemicals are popularly used as preservatives because they're readily available, and cost little for the manufacturer. While the cosmetics company will pass on these cost savings to you, it carries a major downside.
The downside is that in clinical studies, parabens have been shown to potentially cause cancer, breast cancer, in particular. They've also been proven to have a negative impact on estrogen levels. In my opinion, using cheap skin care products that contain parabens is taking too big of a risk.
2) Fragrances.
Fragrances are another harmful ingredient used in inexpensive cosmetics. Most fragrances are synthetic chemicals, and may cause allergic reactions if you have sensitive skin. And let's be frank--cosmetics companies usually include fragrances to make a low-quality product smell better.
A higher quality treatment, such as the ones I've discovered, does not include any fragrances at all. This is because such treatments tend to contain natural ingredients. It's not necessary to mask an odor with fragrances, as organic substances smell just fine.
3) Mineral oil.
Mineral oil is another ingredient commonly found in cheap skin products. I'm sure you're familiar it. Also called liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum, it covers the skin to lock-in moisture.
Unfortunately, it performs this task almost too well--it blocks the pores, preventing skin from eliminating toxins, and creating conditions that can lead to acne breakouts and other issues. But it's inexpensive, and for this reason, cosmetics companies use it all the time.
On the other hand, quality natural ingredients such as active manuka honey, phytessence wakame, grapeseed oil, babassu, and natural vitamin E, for starters, are beneficial for the long term health and vitality of our skin. Although treatments using these ingredients may cost a little more, don't you think your skin deserves the very best?
